Our Story

Jesse and I met January 13th, 2013 and from the moment I met him I knew I was in trouble. I remember calling my mom that night and telling her about this cute guy I just met, and she could tell right away that something was different about this one. He lived a floor above me in our apartment complex in Orem. Jesse and I hung out the next day, and the next, and the next. He kissed me that Wednesday and I was ecstatic! I'd never felt so immediately close, and so familiar with someone as I did with Jesse. I felt like I'd known him my whole life! We spent every day with each other, we were obsessed! That following Monday, 21st, I came over to his apartment after having spent the day with my Oma who was suffering very severely from cancer. I was very upset about her condition, and Jesse just took me in his arms and held me. He told me he was there for me, that I could talk to him, and I believed him. I knew right at that moment that I loved him. On the 22nd, Jesse and I were laying in my bed together talking and he asked me to be his girlfriend. I was thrilled and didn't even have to think twice about my answer, yes! The first thing Jesse did was put it on Facebook and I thought it was adorable. Then 3 days later on the 25th, after a wonderful double date with some friends, Jesse told me he loved me. I was taken aback, so my first response was really? But I knew I loved him too, and quickly told him I felt the same way. We were absolutely smitten with each other, and I couldn't stand to be away from him. He worked full time, and I had full time school but if we weren't at work or school we were together. He'd even sleep over sometimes, sorry Mom, which is hilarious because we would both sleep in my little twin size bed. Jesse being 6'4" and me being 5'10" it was pretty tricky but we made it work and I loved it. We were immediately so comfortable with each other and I had never had that before, even with people I'd known for years sometimes. When my mom met him she said she felt like he belonged in our family, like he has always been there. I couldn't imagine my life without him.

On March 21st, he proposed! I knew it was coming, I had picked out the ring, and we had been talking about it for about a month at that point. I kept bugging him about it because I just wanted to plan our wedding and get married already! He proposed at the Provo Temple and totally caught me by surprise. Our engagement felt like forever, and it was quite the whirlwind.

Finally on June 28th, the day had arrived and we were heading up to the temple to be sealed for time and all eternity. It was so surreal. We had about an hour to sit in the temple together in the best room in the world. We just sat and talked and counted minutes until they FINALLY called our name and took us to the sealing room. It was overwhelming to see all our closest family members and a few friends there, waiting for us. I cried through the whole thing, and Jesse might have even wiped away a tear or two... (; The day went absolutely perfectly. Except for the fact that it was 105 degrees outside and we almost died. It was wonderful. I'm so happy that we are finally married and don't have to worry about all that nonsense anymore! It's such a weight off our shoulders. We went to Orlando Florida for our honeymoon, and we had a blast. Now we are home, living in Lehi, learning how to be married, learning more about each other, and learning more about ourselves. It's not always easy, but I love him more and more every day.
