Our Wedding Pictures

So after much waiting and anticipation, we got our wedding pictures about a week ago! I was so excited, my favorites are on Facebook, but I thought I'd just share a couple on here for the heck of it.

Ok so first, this is probably my favorite picture taken from our wedding. This picture really struck me when I first saw it and the more I look at it, the more I love it. It makes me really happy, and this is why. I believe that this is what it's going to be like when we die and go to heaven. When Jesse and I were leaving the temple we were waiting for our photographer and all of our people to be out there. As we waited I could see through the windows and caught my little cousins eye, she waved and smiled the biggest smile. Everyone is waiting for us to come out, excited to see us, smiling, waiting to give us a big hug and tell us that we are loved. I strongly believe that this is what it will be like. There will be some people we remember, others that we didn't know in our mortal life and they will all be waiting anxiously to hug us and tell us we are loved. This is so comforting to me, and I have a testimony that it is true.

I love this picture, just us coming out of the temple. It was so great to see all of our closest family and friends there waiting for us. It was amazing.

These ladies are my absolute best friends. Katie and I have been friends for almost 11 years now. She's been there through everything with me and I will always love her. Jessica and I have been friends for almost 4 years now, but it feels like a lifetime. I love this girl. I never get to see her anymore, but she is an amazing person. She's always supportive, even when I was doing stupid things, she never thought less of me and I love that about her. They made me cry, buttheads. I love them both like sisters.

Jesse and his friends! Surprisingly he hasn't been friends with most of these guys for very long, but they have made a very good impact in his life and I love this picture of him. He's always happy to see his buddies.

My mama, step dad, and I after the temple. I love love love this picture. I don't know what I would do without these two. I love them so much! Mark is an amazing man for stepping into a family with 5 kids, and he worked really hard to make our yard look beautiful for the wedding. I'll be forever grateful to him for his sacrifices. My mom planned my entire wedding basically on her own, because I'm too much of a nutcase to handle that kind of pressure. If it weren't for her I'd have eloped to the Las Vegas temple and had some subway! (;

Jesse and his cute parents! I don't know these two that well yet, but they are moving to Utah this month so I'll be seeing them a lot more! I'm excited to be able to know them better, and for Jesse to have his family back in the state. It's been hard for him to have them so far away, and it'll be great to have his parents and brothers down here.

Finally, this is my Oma's seat. She passed away after a long battle with cancer this last February. She was an amazing, strong, faithful woman. I was broken apart that she wouldn't be there in the temple with us, watching Jesse and I be sealed together for time and all eternity. But I know I'll see her again someday, and she'll be the first one in that group of people greeting me to give me a hug and tell me she loves me. Although physically my Oma wasn't there, I know she was there in spirit. There was a point before I was being escorted into the temple for the sealing where I was alone for about 3 minutes in the "Bride's Room". I was sitting on a two seat bench on the left side, waiting for the temple worker to come back. While I was sitting there my Oma came into my mind, and I felt her presence there so strongly. I was too scared to look to my right because I was convinced that my Oma would be sitting right there. I swear I could even smell her, it was scary but in a good way. I love my Oma so much, and I can't wait to see her again.

Anyways, that's some of the pictures from our wedding! It was an amazing day, but I sure couldn't be happier that it's over with and I'll never have to do it again! I have really never felt so loved in my life and I did that day. If you think all the Facebook posts for your birthday makes you feel good, a wedding puts that to shame. That love I felt made everything just so worth all the hassle. Thank you so much to everyone who came, helped, and supported us in our wedding day.

Our Story

Jesse and I met January 13th, 2013 and from the moment I met him I knew I was in trouble. I remember calling my mom that night and telling her about this cute guy I just met, and she could tell right away that something was different about this one. He lived a floor above me in our apartment complex in Orem. Jesse and I hung out the next day, and the next, and the next. He kissed me that Wednesday and I was ecstatic! I'd never felt so immediately close, and so familiar with someone as I did with Jesse. I felt like I'd known him my whole life! We spent every day with each other, we were obsessed! That following Monday, 21st, I came over to his apartment after having spent the day with my Oma who was suffering very severely from cancer. I was very upset about her condition, and Jesse just took me in his arms and held me. He told me he was there for me, that I could talk to him, and I believed him. I knew right at that moment that I loved him. On the 22nd, Jesse and I were laying in my bed together talking and he asked me to be his girlfriend. I was thrilled and didn't even have to think twice about my answer, yes! The first thing Jesse did was put it on Facebook and I thought it was adorable. Then 3 days later on the 25th, after a wonderful double date with some friends, Jesse told me he loved me. I was taken aback, so my first response was really? But I knew I loved him too, and quickly told him I felt the same way. We were absolutely smitten with each other, and I couldn't stand to be away from him. He worked full time, and I had full time school but if we weren't at work or school we were together. He'd even sleep over sometimes, sorry Mom, which is hilarious because we would both sleep in my little twin size bed. Jesse being 6'4" and me being 5'10" it was pretty tricky but we made it work and I loved it. We were immediately so comfortable with each other and I had never had that before, even with people I'd known for years sometimes. When my mom met him she said she felt like he belonged in our family, like he has always been there. I couldn't imagine my life without him.

On March 21st, he proposed! I knew it was coming, I had picked out the ring, and we had been talking about it for about a month at that point. I kept bugging him about it because I just wanted to plan our wedding and get married already! He proposed at the Provo Temple and totally caught me by surprise. Our engagement felt like forever, and it was quite the whirlwind.

Finally on June 28th, the day had arrived and we were heading up to the temple to be sealed for time and all eternity. It was so surreal. We had about an hour to sit in the temple together in the best room in the world. We just sat and talked and counted minutes until they FINALLY called our name and took us to the sealing room. It was overwhelming to see all our closest family members and a few friends there, waiting for us. I cried through the whole thing, and Jesse might have even wiped away a tear or two... (; The day went absolutely perfectly. Except for the fact that it was 105 degrees outside and we almost died. It was wonderful. I'm so happy that we are finally married and don't have to worry about all that nonsense anymore! It's such a weight off our shoulders. We went to Orlando Florida for our honeymoon, and we had a blast. Now we are home, living in Lehi, learning how to be married, learning more about each other, and learning more about ourselves. It's not always easy, but I love him more and more every day.
